budbcdemo example demonstrates database APIs and performs the following

• Opens an Access database by udl file.
• Creates a table in the current dgn file and down loads the database(one table in this example) into the table.
• Update the table due to any changes in the database i.e adding/removing rows/columns or entry changes.

In order to build BudbcDemo, Visual Studio 2013 is required and the MicroStation developer batch file must also have been set. It is recommended to first run the Visual Studio 2013 command prompt "VS2013 x64 Cross Tools command prompt" and then run the MicroStation SDK command MicroStationDeveloperShell.bat.

Two files(shapes.udl and shapes.accdb) are provided for this example. They are in the folder ".\access". The path of shapes.accdb which is described in shapes.udl needs to be changed to a valid path before you use this example.

This example provides the following key-ins.

• BUDBCDEMO CONNECT [udl file path]: Connect to a database
• BUDBCDEMO CREATE: Load data from the database and create a text table element which show the data from the database.
• BUDBCDEMO UPDATE: Update the text table element from the database
• BUDBCDEMO DISCONNECT: Disconnect to the database
