Q. | Upgrade from a previous version of SYNCHRO Client |
A. | If you experience problems upgrading your SYNCHRO Client, then we recommend the following: |
1. | Uninstall the previous SYNCHRO product via the Control Panel “Add/Remove Programs” applet |
2. | Manually delete any files remaining in the installation directory (the default directory is “C:\Program Files\Bentley\SYNCHRO” but this may have been changed during the initial installation) |
3. | Manually delete the “HKCU\Software\Synchro” registry key, and any sub-keys |
4. | Install your new version of SYNCHRO. |
Q. | Upgrade from a previous version of SYNCHRO Database Module Client |
A. | If you experience problems upgrading your SYNCHRO Enterprise Edition Client, then we recommend the following: |
1. | Start the SYNCHRO Client Application |
2. | Use File->Save As, (or File->Export->SYNCHRO Project ) to export each Database Project as an SP File (as a backup) |
3. | Uninstall your old SYNCHRO Database Plugin. |
4. | Uninstall your old SYNCHRO Client. |
5. | Install the latest SYNCHRO Client, and Activate your License. |
6. | Install the latest SYNCHRO Database Plugin, making sure the “Upgrade Database” option is checked (which is the default setting). |
7. | Start the SYNCHRO Client Application, open and test the upgraded projects. |
In the event that the upgrade fails, use the File->New Project command, and the "Import SYNCHRO Project File" option, to import your previously saved projects. Delete the corrupted projects. |
Q. | Why is SYNCHRO is failing to install on my PC which is running the Microsoft Windows 7 (or Vista) operating system? |
A. | SYNCHRO may fail to install (or run) due to insufficient access rights to the shared folder in which the tutorial, example or database files are stored (or created). This is due to the enhanced security associated with Windows User Account Control (UAC) A simple workaround is to choose the Custom installation option and change the installation path for these files (see Installing the SYNCHRO Client for further information)... |
Q. | Where are the Tutorial Files and Other Folders used by SYNCHRO |
A. | Details of the default files and folder locations used by SYNCHRO are detailed below... |
