Windows>Resource Usage Spreadsheet

The Resource Usage window displays time-distributed cost and resource assignment data. For each selected Resource, all 'assigned to' tasks are listed below the Resource.

·The rows with yellow background are the Resource; indented rows below each task show the tasks that the Resource is assigned to. The left side table shows total values for the entire elapsed duration, while the right side spreadsheet under the Timeline shows values per time-period bucket. When applicable, the values in the Task rows will be summed to the Resource row.
·To choose which Resources to include in the spreadsheet: From the Resources window,  apply column filters to show only the Resources you wish to view in the Resource Usage window. Only Resources visible in the Resources window will appear in the Resource Usage spreadsheet. Sorting of the Resources in the Resource Usage spreadsheet is also controlled by sorting int the Resources window
·Fields in the left side table that can be edited in Task Properties>Resources, can also be edited directly in the Resource Usage table. If a parameter cannot be edited in Task Properties>Resources it will not be able to be edited in the Resource Usage table either. For example, for a Human Resource, Planned Units is only editable when Fixed Units is enabled; when Fixed Units is disabled, Planned Units/Time will be editable instead.

·The following menu is available by right click in the table area:

Customise Fields...

Select the field to be displayed in the time-distributed spreadsheet. The value of this field will be calculated for each resource assignment per time period. Fields are available as Time Interval or Cumulative (sums Time Interval values up to the end of the given time period).

Edit Timescale

Specify the Timescale Start and End Dates for the time-distributed spreadsheet. The Automatic settings will use the Project Start and Project Finish dates in Navigator>Project>Details

The Timeline Step determines the bucket size or time-period for which the spreadsheet values are calculated

NOTE: For multi-year projects it is recommended to set the Timeline to a shorter portion of the overall duration, especially when the Timeline Step is set to Hour or Day. Limit timescale duration by editing left (Start) and right (Finish) borders. For example, use hourly scale for reports on weekly or monthly basis and daily scale for monthly or quarterly reports.

Zoom To

Scrolls the timeline to show the assignments for the selected row

Copy Text

Copy the selected text

Export to Excel

Export the currently visible data to Excel for further analysis or to create graphs. In the Save As dialog, choose XLS or CSV format.

If you receive the following error, you have too many Timescale steps to export to XLS. Use CSV format instead

Expand All

Expand all Resource summary rows so that all task assignment rows show

Collapse All

Collapse all expanded rows so that only the Resource summary rows show

·The following menu is available by right clicking in the column header area:

Customise Columns - Open the Customise Columns window to select the columns for the left side table

Sort - Sort the left side table by one of the visible columns

Column Width - opens a dialog to specify the fixed column width for the time distributed data columns under the Timeline

Custom Filter - Right click in the header of the column you wish to filter by and select Custom Filter... to open the Filter dialog. Filters will apply to assignment rows only (not to Resource rows, which are controlled by filters in the Resources window). Summary values in the Resource rows (e.g. Planned Units) sum only rows included by filter.

Clear Filter  - removes the filter from the selected column

Clear All Filters - removes custom Filters from ALL columns

Edit timescale - Specify the Timescale Start and End Dates for the time-distributed spreadsheet. (see above)
